The Boston University Alumni Association is excited to welcome the return of regular alumni network activities to NYC—It's time for the Terriers to take New York!

Meet fellow BU NYC Alumni Network community members and your local Alumni Network leaders in Midtown at The Three Monkeys on Thursday, May 11 for an evening of celebration. Reconnect with old friends and make new ones while you enjoy delicious hors d’oeuvres alongside your favorite beverages.

Meet Your Network Leaders

Sid Chopra (Questrom’19)
Co-Chair
A trilingual, third-culture kid, and proud Terrier, Sid is thrilled to serve as co-chair of the Boston University New York Alumni Network. His time at BU was marked by growth, exploration, and community-building. From leading Questrom's annual casino night to serving as an orientation leader and international peer mentor, Sid has always been passionate about fostering connections and cultivating meaningful experiences.

Currently, as a Strategy Consultant at Deloitte, Sid brings his expertise to serving their consumer and technology clients. He also an active member of Propel, Soho House, and Primary VC's mastermind network, allowing him to connect with the entrepreneurial spirit of the city. Beyond his professional pursuits, Sid is deeply committed to making a difference in the world. He serves as a member of Boston University's Young Alumni Council, an Associate Board member at Summer Search, and co-founder at a nonprofit providing access to affordable healthcare.

In his free time, Sid loves to cook plant-based food, host board game nights, work out at Barry's and Rumble, bike across the pier, and craft delicious cocktails for friends. And if you need insider knowledge of NYC's best restaurants and speakeasies, look no further – he is happy to share his recommendations!

As co-chair, Sid’s primary goal is to build a vibrant and supportive community for BU alumni, one that enables the community to learn, grow, and make a meaningful impact. He is excited to work with you all towards this shared vision


Crystal-Angelee Burrell (Pardee'14)
Communications Chair
Crystal is a freelance journalist and corporate sales professional born and raised in Brooklyn, New York. 

Crystal’s Jamaican heritage and upbringing has powerfully informed her worldview as a first-generation American. After graduating from Boston University’s Pardee School of Global Studies (B.A. International Relations) with a minor from the College of Fine Arts (Theater Arts), Crystal went on to earn a Master of Arts in Cultural and Creative Industries from King’s College London. 

Her freelance journalism focuses on art, lifestyle, and cultural equity, while her sales career spans media and the fine arts. Crystal’s steadfast commitment to community has been foundational in her career. As a member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority, Inc., the nation’s first historically Black sorority, she’s continued to uphold the values of sisterhood, service and scholarship. Since 2018, Crystal has served as a mentor with Free Arts NYC, a 501(c)(3) non-profit that empowers underserved youth through arts and mentorship programming emphasizing college readiness. 

Looking ahead, she’s excited to serve as communications co-chair of the Boston University New York Alumni Network.
