Recent winner of the Horwitz Prize for Pioneering Research on COVID-19 Vaccines and BUSM alumnus, Drew Weissman, MD, PhD, (MED’87), is a featured speaker you do not want to miss. Last e-news we shared our Words of Encouragement for first-year medical students. We invite you to meet six students from the Class of 2025 and learn about their personal journeys to medical school and why they chose to become a doctor. One student, Fiona Cerf, mentions, “My journey has taken me from the mountains of Colorado to the cobblestone streets of Mexico, from the rivers of the West to art studios and hospital hallways in Seattle. It has introduced me to people who have changed my life and it has taught me so very much about myself and about the impact that I want to have through medicine.” As you may remember, BUSM recently established the Rebecca Lee Crumpler Scholarship honoring alumna, Rebecca Lee Crumpler, MD, (MED’1864).
